How do you know if its time for new tires and brakes?

On the tires, the top of the wear bar is level with the rest of the tire. The brakes work but they tend to squeak.... I need some info because no mechanic down here is going to give me a fair deal anymore. How do you know if its time for new tires and brakes?if the wear bars are showing level, then the tires are worn out. Another way is to take an american penny, put the bottom of the penney into the tread, if the bottom of lincolns neck shows, the tire is worn out. On the brakes, brakes are designed to start squeeking when they get worn, if the squeeking stops when you step on the brakes, the brakes are worn. If the squeeking cintinues when you step on the brakes, it may be wheel bearings. If the squeek only happens when you step on the brake, it may be something on the brake pads, but they need to be checked to be safe. How do you know if its time for new tires and brakes?its time to replace your tires for sure. your brakes need to be looked at, but maybe they don't need to be replaced. How do you know if its time for new tires and brakes?the wear bar is where most people change their tires at. as for you brakes. you do need to look at how much pad is left. normally, less then 1/8 inch of pad left on any one of the pads and it is time for brakes. The front wear faster by a factor of 2 to 1.How do you know if its time for new tires and brakes? The best place to buy new tires is at a price club like Sams or Costco that have the lowest %26quot;out the door%26quot; price on quality brands like Michelin and Bridgestone which I recommend. You get what you pay for with tires.
