My bleed screws on my oldsmobile achieva are not opening. No matter what i have tried i cannot get them open to bleed my brakes. Someone told me you can gravity bleed them at the master cylinder. Is this true and if it is how do you do it?How do you gravity bleed brakes at the master cylinder?Try a little heat on the bleeder screw,
Use a vice-grip set of pliers to break it loose
If still unable replace caliper or drum cylinderHow do you gravity bleed brakes at the master cylinder?type into searchbox
how to bench bleed master cylinder
how to bleed brakes
add video to either
how to bleed brakes video
only one way to do it rightHow do you gravity bleed brakes at the master cylinder?dont listen to what that one guy said,,, dont add heat to the dam bleader,, thats flamable fluid and can combust from heat a pressure......if you have the threads still on the bleeder,,, spray some wd40 or never seize on the bleeders,, let them sit for 5 minutes!....then put the bleeder wrench or wrench on,, make sure you use a hammer on the end of the wrench, so pry the wrench to the left so it loosens,, and while prying, tap with hammer.. idealy hand farther up the wrench and hammer hitting the bottom end.... if you have no luck with that,m,, that sucks, but to gravity bleed,,,, its a lot easier but doesnt always work
TO GRAVITY BLEED you take the cap of your brake fluid resevoir and the rubber piece so all you see is brake fluid...then let the vhicle sit for a few days.... the air technically should rise out of the break lines,, but may not,,
btw if your doing this cause of braking issues,,,, breaks calipers and break cylinders are easy to change!! only about 100 bux for all around as well. then 50 for breaks... good luck have funHow do you gravity bleed brakes at the master cylinder?bleeding the master cylinder is,nt enough. you have to bleed the air out of the lines too. try spraying some pb blaster on the bleeders and see if they will come loose. you can also loosen the line that goes into the calipers too but that,s a long time to bleed them. How do you gravity bleed brakes at the master cylinder?spray some penetrating oil on the bleed screws. wd40 is not penetrating oil. the bleed screws just need to turn about 1/3 of a turn in order to bleed that line. someone has to press the pedal after another person has cracked open the bleeder. the bleeder is then closed, and the pedal is released. then the bleeder opened, pedal pressed, bleeder closed, pedal released. lather rinse repeat.
