How do I install new rim brakes on my bike?

My regular rim brakes are worn out. I think the thing is actually bent. I just have trouble understanding how to connect the wires.How do I install new rim brakes on my bike?Hehe ya i think a mechanic is a good idea cause i screwed mine up.
