I had some new brakes put on my push bike. Initially they were very squeeky but I assumed that the noise would go when they got worn in. However they are still making a very loud squeal when I brake, especially when I brake hard. What can I do to stop them from doing this as it is very annoying! Toe in adjustment on the pads. If that doesn't do it, check the pads themselves for glazing (looks shiny rather than grippy), you can rough 'em up with some sandpaper.



Clean your rims. But, don't use oil. Jeepers. Windex or any other household cleaner will do fine.
