I have a 98 R reg renault clio and after ive drove so far, sometimes even just up the road, the brakes start to really stick on, making it impossible to get above 10mph in first gear. I've had new brake fluid tubes and new calipers. What could be causing it and what could i do to stop it?
Thanks in advanceHow can i stop my brakes from sticking?Sounds like the master cylinder, why not ask garage to check it They should have done that when replacing the pipes.
.How can i stop my brakes from sticking?try bleeding the linesHow can i stop my brakes from sticking? You say you have had the tubes replaced, have you had the flexi hoses checked they sometimes collapse in on themselves causing that fault.. another option is have you had to slam the brakes on violently? if so this can cause the pushrod from the brake pedal to the master cylinder to bend, which in turn tends to stick in the on position, hope this helps...How can i stop my brakes from sticking?I'd try replacing the master cylinder. Its probably the cheapest thing to go after next..if not that have the ABS system diagnosed. How can i stop my brakes from sticking?you need to check the Free play on the foot brake peddle to make sure there is at least 1/8 %26quot; free play if ther is little or no play the brake fluid can not return the master cylinder and stays pressurised causing the brakes to stay onHow can i stop my brakes from sticking? It could be a faulty anti lock braking system. How can i stop my brakes from sticking?I go along with Oscar, that's where I would be looking. If you want to check for sure that's where the problem is, then when it happens just crack open a bleeder , one front and one rear and if the car is easy to roll again then you have found the problem. The rod from the pedal to the master cylinder needs to be shortened so the piston can come right back. How can i stop my brakes from sticking?it will be the non retun valve in the master cylinder, essentially pumping the system up, and applying the brakes.. just as you describe. the master/servo arent worth fixing so get one fromn a scrap car and save 100 quid... get em fitted for around 40 quid and off you go.
or..make sure the brake pedal can return to the off position and isn tbeing jammed down by a bit of carpet of soundproff mat, whhich would also stop the pedal working properly... might even be a broken piston return spring... (mechanic joke)How can i stop my brakes from sticking?only problem here is its another automotive engineering feat of the french...not known for great cars....i.e....peuget..citreon....renaul?luck
