Your %26quot;leaning%26quot; tire sounds like a bad ball joint. When these go, it throws off the camber and the bottom of the tire will point out. If you're hearing a metallic grinding noise, it is probably your wheel bearing or possibly your wheel or brake making contact with something as you drive. The grinding sound could be simply metal on metal with regards to your worn brakes.
It's very hazardous to drive your car in this condition and I would have it towed to the shop. You're wheel or spindle could fall off or break loose at the bottom causing many thousands in damage and possibly injury to yourself or others. When ball joints completely fail, they pull away from their sockets and you'll find your wheel jammed sideways inside your fender.
I realize you probably don't want to hear this, but your front end work, whether it's a spindle, bearing, ball joint or more will set you back at least $200, and probably more. Also if they're shot on one side, chances are the other side is bad too.How much should I pay for new rotors and brakes, and also I have a tire that leans and grinds? 94 explorer?$360 sounds pretty high.. I'd do it for 1/2 that much.. generally, the parts are usually less than $100.. %26amp; yes, the wheel bearing is probably shot.. just hope it didn't wear into the spindle.. that could get expensiveHow much should I pay for new rotors and brakes, and also I have a tire that leans and grinds? 94 explorer? On a 94 explorer that sounds just a little high but remember the cost of the new rotors (around $100 each); they aren't cheap the ford company is proud of them so they feel obligated to charge a little more for them. You had better get the wheel bearing fixed first or you may not need the brakes. They won't help when the wheel they are attached to is rolling through the woods or traffic causing more accidents.
