Parking Brake warning light on/ brakes feel like they are pressure breaking?

I have an 01 escape with 75,000 km on it and my parking brake in warning light is on even thought my parking brake itself is not on also when i am braking it feels like my brakes are pressure breaking themselves even though it stops fine? what is wrong? And how much would it cost to fix around?Parking Brake warning light on/ brakes feel like they are pressure breaking?Sounds like a cable is hung up from rust .

Is the car dipping in the front or does it pull a bit from the rear.

( like a tug ).

Parking brake is in the rear..

Have someone with some skill, look at it for you..

Do you smell any unusual odors from the wheel well areas. Go ahead, take a whiff around each wheel.

Here's another option. Hold the brake release lever out while pressing your foot up and down on the emergency brake , or if its a lever hold in the button and move it up and down. Does it feel normal ?

Hope this helps a bit..Parking Brake warning light on/ brakes feel like they are pressure breaking?bleed themParking Brake warning light on/ brakes feel like they are pressure breaking?Sounds like the parking brake needs to be adjusted or replaced. Shouldn't cost more than $200.Parking Brake warning light on/ brakes feel like they are pressure breaking?possibly the master cylinder?Parking Brake warning light on/ brakes feel like they are pressure breaking?could be low brake fluid in master cylinderParking Brake warning light on/ brakes feel like they are pressure breaking?Don't you have a %26quot;man%26quot;?

because if he can't even do that for you, leave him.

Unless he gives you real good manicures.Parking Brake warning light on/ brakes feel like they are pressure breaking?I am not sure on this model, but some models have a parking brake light which doubles as a low brake fluid warning, or as a brake circuit failure. If the brakes feel substantially different to normal, you either have a fluid leak, or a failing master cylinder. Take it to a repair shop immediately, if you lose all your fluid you will have NO brakes without any further warning.Parking Brake warning light on/ brakes feel like they are pressure breaking?Check your brake fluid level.
