How do I know what brakes to get for my car?

I am looking to get brakes for my 1992 Camaro and I was wondering what does into picking the right discs and pads. The front brakes are my main concern. Any information would be helpful. If you have access to mitchel or alldata (probably not) you could look up what brands and specs used by the manufacturer. It is always best to use original equipment that the manufacturer uses. If you are on a budget, these stores will give you cheaper options that will get the job done. If you are replacing the brakes yourself, you could also remove them, take them in and have them checked out, they may not need to be replaced yet, or maybe the rotors can just be turned and that will save you some sweet moo-lah!



Also! if they ask you what type of pads you want, like %26quot;Ceramics, Semi-metallic etc.%26quot; it all depends on preference.... Semi-metallic pads wear better, last longer, and stop a little better. Ceramic pads are quieter and give off less brake dust (if you've got fancy wheels). I'd just stick to one of those 2
