How to find the distance traveled after applying brakes in a car?

The brakes applied to a moving car produce a negative acceleration of 6m/s^2. If the car takes 2s to stop after applying brakes, calculate the distance it travels during this time.

Please help me!How to find the distance traveled after applying brakes in a car?s = 0.5at^2 + v0t

v = ds/dt = at + v0

v = 0 = v0 - 6m/s^2 * 2s; v0 = 12 m/s

s = -3 m/s^2 * 4s^2 + 12 m/s * 2s = 24m - 12m = 12m

12 meters.
