How soon do brakes and tires need to be replaced on a Toyota RAV4?

My 2006 RAV4 needed brakes and new tires after only 2 years with approx. 25,000 miles. Is this normal? I know that it depends on your driving habits but I've never needed these things done on any other vehicle I have owned.How soon do brakes and tires need to be replaced on a Toyota RAV4?you done good on mileage you really cant use mileage as a factor in some cases ,because some people have to use the brakes more than others do,so you cant always go by the amount of miles on a car,go by the amount that you have to use the brakes,25 thousand is good for a set of brakes though on any car,good luck.How soon do brakes and tires need to be replaced on a Toyota RAV4?That isn't very good mileage on the tires. The only way to be sure is to take the vehicle to get a manual and check the brakes and tires for wear yourself, have a friend do it, or take it to several garages for estimates, get their opinion and price, write their name and what they said down, thank them and go to the next garage, etc., or take it to the dealer, who will be right but very expensive.



Did you check the tires yourself with a penny? Just insert the penny, with Lincoln's hair first, into a typical crack in the tread. The rubber should reach to the top of Lincoln's head or more. When it doesn't, that is time to replace your tire.



Looking ahead and braking long and gently rather than short and hard will greatly extend the life of your brakes. Taking turns gently will extend the life of your tires. You will be able to get a better idea of your relative tire life after you put a new set of tires on with some kind of definite mileage warranty--40,000 mile, 90,000 mile, etc. and see how those last. I'm sure they will do fine. I have had two Toyotas, a Honda, a Hyundai and a Kia, and have nothing but praise for them.

I usually have to get my breaks done once a year and tires depending on how much you drive every 1-2 years.
