I have a manual transmission 1999 Ford Explorer Sport. The parking brakes are not working. I'm wondering how much does it cost to get it fixed. If you had your parking brakes fixed in your car, how much did it cost? I'm trying to get a range estimate. How much does it cost to get the parking brakes working again?ok this si a little tricyer than the first question. If you know about the brake system on your car, look for the adjustment hole on the back (inner) side of your brake drums at the rear of the vehicle. You will need a long sturdy flat head screwdriver. Inside the hole is a wheel with teeth on it. using those teeth as leverage rotate the wheel upwards (depending on which side of the vehicle you are on this will be both clockwise and counter, so always in an upward motion) try about 5 clicks then try the e-brake. back and forth until it works, after about 25 clicks or so you might want to have a professional inspect the brakes. Once again best of luck!!!How much does it cost to get the parking brakes working again? It depends on what's wrong with the brakes. May have a broken cable, bad shoes, only needs adjustment, etc.
Why don't you buy a book for it and fix it yourself, along with the flasher? How much does it cost to get the parking brakes working again?if it only needs to be adjusted do it yourself free then but
if they stop-ed working suddenly adjustment wont helpHow much does it cost to get the parking brakes working again? All these answers are right. But if you have 4 wheel disk brakes the one about the adjustment hole on your rear brakes only applies to ones with rear drum brakes. other than that they are right.
